Senior Data Architect

On behalf of our Government client, Data Eaver is currently searching for a Senior Data Architect, you will be responsible for leading discussions, meetings, and workshops with leaders, stakeholders, and end-users to understand business direction and enterprise data/information technology requirements. You will design and deliver enterprise and solution technology architecture related to data platforms, assess technical requirements for various business initiatives, and provide architecture expertise and consultation. Your role will involve modeling Proof of Concept solutions in an agile environment, providing guidelines for technology adoption and implementation, and reviewing solutions and designs of peers.

You will be expected to provide thought leadership and drive architecture and the design of Data Management & Analytics solutions. This includes translating business strategies and priorities into data technology architecture requirements, planning and delivering digitalized, modernized, and rationalized information management technology solutions, and evaluating and recommending new technologies and applications.

Additionally, you will guide consultation with clients and staff on data services, coach and mentor staff, support a client-centric and service-oriented approach, and foster data solution innovation and continuous improvement. Effective stakeholder engagement, maintaining working relationships and partnerships, and ensuring the cultural shift towards data as a strategic asset will be essential aspects of your role.

Education:

• University graduation in business, management, or a related discipline and 6 years of Data Architect (DA) experience; OR

• 2-year diploma in business, management, or a related discipline and 8 years of DA experience; OR

• 1-year certificate in business, management, or a related discipline and 9 years of DA experience; OR

• 10 years of DA experience.

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in defining technical architecture, data integration, supporting software development, software configuration, and deployment processes.

• 5 years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting data platforms and data solutions for large projects involving multiple data sources in an architect capacity for an environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.

• 5 years of experience in multiple architecture domains (e.g., business, application, technology, data/information, security, and privacy).

• 3 years of experience dealing with clients and explaining complex data principles.

• 5 years of experience modeling complex business processes and translating them into understandable IT constructs.

• 3 years of direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis, solution architecture and design, and deployment for cloud-based Data Management projects using cloud technologies like Azure, Snowflake, etc.

• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis, solution architecture and design, and deployment related to data analysis, data analytics, data visualization, data science, data mining.

• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis, solution architecture and design, and deployment related to data management, acquisition, preparation, quality, and data lineage/provenance.

• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience with design and implementation of data security, data privacy, policies, data de-identification/anonymization, data audits/reviews, synthetic data.

• 5 years of experience developing data technology roadmaps in support of a corporate data strategy.

• 2 years of experience with implementing enterprise data strategy and/or data governance.

• 5 years of experience in facilitating meetings and communicating with senior management and project stakeholders.

• 1 year of experience using Big Data platforms like Cloudera Data Platform.

• 2 years of experience with Data Fabric and Data Mesh architectures.

• 5 years of experience in the development and implementation of data platforms, governance standards, processes, and mechanisms to enable organizations to manage information through its entire lifecycle.

• 2 years of experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Gartner, or Zachman).

• 5 years of experience providing leadership, planning, estimating, and presentations of ideas and solutions.

• 1 year of experience working in or for the public sector.

• 2 years of experience in performing threat and risk assessments and presenting recommendations for risk mitigation to senior management.

• 3 years of experience developing and delivering training materials.
